Japan Invades Burma
Victoria Point — Dec 16, 1941
Japanese forces have occupied Victoria Point, the southern tip of Burma. Military observers warn Allied forces must now prepare for a long campaign toward Rangoon across difficult jungle terrain.

December 17, 1941 – Rangoon
With news of the southern advance, Rangoon begins urgent preparations. Civilians dig trenches. Sandbags rise against storefronts. Whispers of shortages drift through the bazaar. The docks still bustle with trade, but the city feels the shadow of invasion. Allied soldiers, thin in number, are reinforcing key positions.
Meanwhile, at Company Triple 7, General Jawwa Jim has declared the outpost “mission ready.” Corporal Corporal tidies up in the PX, while Chaplain Brody stands his ground, insisting the fiercest battle so far has been with jungle mosquitoes. Major Honey Baby studies her family Bible, preparing tomorrow’s verse.

Flying Tigers Arrive
American volunteer pilots known as the Flying Tigers have arrived to aid in Burma’s defense. Their shark‑toothed P‑40 Warhawks have already become a symbol of Allied resolve.
